Max Patté: Unfolding, Club Diamondz, Double Bay 2026 - Abyss is a standing figure in mirror-polished stainless steel, close to life size at 185 centimetres. Its surface is broken into planes, so the body reads clearly from a distance and then comes apart as you approach, each facet holding a fragment of water, sky or passer-by. In Unfolding it stands in the Club Diamondz courtyard, carrying the show’s interest in reflection out into daylight, where it changes with the weather and the hour. It suits a garden, courtyard or entrance where it can be walked around and seen against greenery and open sky. Two remain in this size: edition 3/3 and the artist’s proof.
