Set at the heart of the Mornington Peninsula, this exhibition draws its energy from water and the idea of being deeply of place. Each artist approaches the coast not just as scenery but as a force that shapes how we see, live, and make.
Lorraine Biggs’ suspended shells and tidal forms capture the quiet pause between sea and sky. Baden Croft dives beneath the surface, revealing the reefs and channels that define the Peninsula’s hidden architecture. Debbie Mackenzie’s horizon holds the weight of shifting weather, while Liam Waldie traces cliffs and bays that locals know by heart. Neil Williams’ diptych extends that bayside coastline into a long, breathing line.
Light enters through Max Patté’s works, their depth and movement echoing tidal pull, and Leisa Wharington’s blown-glass forms carry the warmth of coastal materiality.
Together, these works anchor the exhibition in the Peninsula’s defining element: water as memory, motion, and the connective tissue of place.
