Jo Lane is an artist working in drawing and sculpture. A Melbourne woman, although a British citizen also, Jo’s work considers and explores physical, conceptual, and psychological spaces. Through an exploration of the use of visual art as language in the medias of drawing and sculpture, she probes ideas of identity, dislocation, existence, and responsibility. Her works erupt from these conceptual idioms.

She conducts a full time art practice which has evolved over time, commencing with botanical work many years ago and culminating in solo shows at contemporary art galleries. Her recent work responds intuitively to the outside world, the inside world, and differing depths of sensibility, responsibility, and expression, as a social function.

Having completed a Diploma of Visual Art, A Graduate Certificate in Visual Art and Master of Fine Art Drawing in London in 2018 she has now exhibited in both her home country Australia as well as the UK.  Her work has been shortlisted for multiple drawing and sculpture awards in both counties, and work are held in many private and public collections.
