Residency: Artist-in-Residence Program

Located on-site, The Bolthole is a shipping container studio nestled under the gum trees in the garden at The Studio & Co. The Bolt Hole Artist-in-Residence Program grants talented emerging artists a subsidised studio at Kelli Lundberg Art to explore their craft in a place where they are provided with guidance, mentorship and exposure to the surrounding creative precinct.

More than a studio, the ‘Bolt Hole’ is a sanctuary in the midst of The Studio&Co where artists can become immersed in the spirited creative ecosystem in their orbit. At the culmination of their residency journey, a gallery showcase is held to celebrate their evolution and propel their careers forwards into the next chapter.

- BREAKING NEWS - NOVEMBER 2025

The Artist-in-Residence program has officially outgrown The Bolthole and moved into The Garden Gallery & Studio — a beautifully reimagined 40ft container tucked down a garden path at the back of The Studio & Co. Hosting our two Artists-in-Residence — a painter at one end, a writer at the other — and occasionally, the Gallery Director on the turntable, soaking up the serenity. Make sure you drop by to say hello if you don't find us in the Gallery or Stockroom!

  • DEBBIE MACKENZIE

August 2024 - Debbie Mackenzie is an artist residing on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. After studying Graphic Design and then following a career in advertising, Debbie embarked upon a journey into the romantic. She quickly established herself as one of the most exciting emerging artists to watch and has gone on to be involved in countless sell-out solo shows and group exhibitions.

Debbie's work is largely about reverie, a sense of place and a desire to be there. Inspiration comes from her childhood, spent on the Mornington Peninsula and holidaying at the family's century-old beach house at Peterborough on the Great Ocean Road. These land and seascapes provide a rich and endless source of motivation leading to paintings depicting scenes that feel just out of reach, as though one could almost climb through the frame and become a part of them.

Portraying the ease and quietude of gently undulating landscapes and the elemental purity of weather's energy in dialogue with the sea, Debbie's paintings emulate the feeling of standing before a vista that coaxes an unknotting of the body and mind. Acrylics are rendered on canvas to convey the natural world in all its awesome vastness. Often devoid of humanity, the scenes hero the natural world occasionally hinting at man's presence through the evidence of cultivated fields or a single distant house.

A John Leslie Art Prize Finalist in 2020 and 2018, Debbie has exhibited in numerous successful solo shows and group exhibitions and has work in private collections across the country and abroad.

Following her sell-out July 2025 exhibition 'Revelations in Solitude', developed during her residency in The Bolthole at Kelli Lundberg Art, Debbie has now moved into our gorgeous Garden Gallery & Studio, where she continues to create new works and private commissions.

  • MARIA RADUN

    March - June 2024

MARIA RADUN's inaugural residency at kellilundberg.art will culminate in a solo exhibition within the Stockroom featuring a collection of artworks that delve into themes of connection to nature, introspection and belonging. Maria explores these themes through the use of visual metaphor and symbolism, intertwining them with personal narratives within the context of still-life paintings.

Maria Radun's exhibition Grounded explores themes of impermanence and belonging through still-life paintings rendered in both a figurative and artistically competent beauty. Featuring carefully selected remnants from her native environment, Maria’s delicate compositions capture the fleeting nature of life. Artfully engaging shadow play and the expert variety of paint applications bring a balance of the dark side to the otherwise classically beautiful subjects. Maria's art invites viewers to contemplate the enduring allure of natural forms amidst their capacity to anchor life's constant flux.
