Adam Goodrum is a leading Australian industrial designer whose work is characterised by an exploratory and inventive approach to form and function, resulting in furniture that is both distinctive and made to be enjoyed. After graduating from the University of Technology Sydney, his career accelerated in 2004 when he won the Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award, leading to an early collaboration with Cappellini in Milan and the launch of the Stitch Chair.
Since then, he has received major honours including the NGV Rigg Design Prize, Indesign Luminary Award, IDEA Gold Medal and induction into the Design Institute of Australia Hall of Fame. Alongside collaborations with leading Australian and international manufacturers, with works held in major national and international museum collections.
In addition to his independent studio, Goodrum, as half of duo A&A, creates unique works that synthesise art, craft and design. Acquired by private collectors and institutions, including the NGA and NGV, these pieces have received international acclaim, winning the Dezeen Awards – Furniture Design of the Year, the Créateurs Design Awards – Best New Collection, and the VL50 – Product Designer of the Year.
